There are over 200 monsters to find and collect, with new varieties opening up the more you upgrade your Yo-Kai Watch's level. Throughout the main campaign you'll be taught to scan the world for new Yo-Kai friends to add to your Medallium (aka the Pokedex) by collecting their unique medal. But, in their quest for better bugs than their buds, they stumble across a strange vending machine full of stones that look extremely like Pokeballs.īut it's here that they discover the titular Yo-Kai Watch, which is a wrist-worn device that enables them to see the Yo-Kai (literally the Japanese for ghosts, phantoms or strange apparition s) that hide in the human world. In Yo-Kai Watch, you play as a young boy or girl on their summer holidays, who starts out simply attempting to catch various insects for a school project. ![]()
